OnStage has a new User Interface! We hope you love it!
This new user interface has been made to be better used on your mobile phone. Implementing new standards also ensures that users with disabilities can make better use of our application.
Menu
The pages are constructed the same for your mobile phone and your laptop, but will show certain information differently depending on the room. For example, on your laptop you always see the menu on the left of the screen for quick navigation, but on your mobile phone you have a button at the top left of the screen to call up the menu.
Actions
At the top right of the screen there are always actions that you can do, such as saving, refreshing, adding vacancies to files, and the like. The actions that are shown depend on what you are doing at that moment.
If you have the option of mass actions in a screen, or as soon as you open the details of, for example, a file or vacancy, the available actions may change. In that situation, the color of the action bar at the top of the screen changes and the available actions within that screen also change.
Certain core actions in a file activity such as closing and reopening will also be available at the bottom right of the screen. These actions are always the most likely action you would take.
Dashboards
The new interface uses new dashboards. These can each be called up separately via the menu. Which dashboards you have available depends on your rights. The two most commonly used dashboards are My students and My file activities, which show the files and associated actions to which you as a supervisor are linked.
Mass actions can be done by selecting a line, the actions will then appear at the top right after the top bar has changed color.
If a dashboard has multiple ways to display the information, for example in a list or in blocks such as the “My Students” screen, then the buttons to switch these different screen formats are next to the search bar.
Filtering and sorting are always at the top right of the screen. You can sort by specific values per screen that you choose as soon as you click on the button.
Filtering can work in two ways. In most screens the filter opens in a pop-up on the screen and you can choose different filters. These filters are implemented immediately and are then visible via a so-called pill under the search field.
Search for student
Searching for Students is always available as an action and can be done by typing the student's name or number. In the mobile version you will first have to press the search icon.
Dossier page
The dossier page contains all the information you are already used to, but may look different in some ways. Also, activities can now be opened in full screen and the screen has 2 alternative ways to view the list of activities.
For more information about this screen, go to the corresponding FAQ page.
Vacancy database
The job board has a number of visual adjustments and a number of new functions that were not available in the old design. The first difference you notice is that the filter bar has been moved to the right side.
The options in the filter list have been adjusted in order to ensure that the most commonly used filters are further up than in the old design. Selected filters are now always at the top of the screen and can also be deleted directly there.
For more information about this screen, go to the corresponding FAQ page.
Grading
For grading, the changes in the new design are minimal and mainly affect how you navigate in the grading activity.
In the activity, before you start marking, the attempts are now not shown in tabs but in a pill at the top of the activity. The currently active attempt is shown in black.
The most important change after opening the review session is that the 'back to file' button no longer exists. This has been replaced by the standard back button at the top left of the screen that you also use in all other places to go back. This button is linked to the back button of your browser.
If there are any unsaved changes you will always receive a notification when leaving, so you don't have to worry about something not being saved.
FAQ
If you have any questions about the new user interface, click on a question mark on the page and you will then be taken to a FAQ question specifically about that location. You can also always find an overview of all help questions and instructions here in the FAQ. Please note that your educational institution may have in-depth instructions for using OnStage, which may still be based on the old user interface.
Feedback
We would love to hear what you think of our new user interface, so you can give your feedback at any time from the menu via the feedback button by filling in a short feedback form. We would like to thank you in advance for all the input we receive from you!
Finally, you can always go back to the old user interface via a button in the menu. Please let us know why you prefer to use the old version, so that we can make our new version even better for you!
