The student locator is designed to help you keep track of where students are, for instance letting you determine if a student may be at risk because of a disaster or incident that has happened in a particular region. After identifying an incident and a specific risk, the student’s status can then be tracked.
The actions you can take where the student locator can be a help with are:
You can note disasters/incidents and link students to them
- Determining whether this is needed can be done using a map of the world
- The incident is then shown in the student dossier.
You can contact the students concerned by e-mail
- This can be based on the location (by sorting or filtering)
- This can also be done after linking to an event, by filtering on that event
You can track students and assign a ‘Status’ to them:
- Unknown
- Alert (you can decide for yourself what the concrete significance is)
- OK
- Deceased
You can provide opportunities to engage with the students even better (if configured) through:
- Activities in the process (mandatory or otherwise) that can help:
- Recording contact details (including temporary residential addresses and ICE data)
- Modifying dossier dates (recording the actual starting and end dates of work placements)
If there is not yet an activity for this in the process, you can always add it as an optional step.
