What is the difference between a mailshot and a notification?

Both generate e-mails to one or several interested people. Both use templates that data from OnStage can be included in.

• A mailshot is sent manually, ad hoc from a dossier, the organization screen or the student screen. You use a template for this, but you can still insert or change texts.
• A notification is sent automatically from the dossier, linked to starting, completing or cancelling a step of the entire process (the preparation phase or the execution phase). You have to use a template for this. These are sent fully automatically and without you being aware of it; you can therefore not make changes before sending. An activity in the dossier screen has an envelope next to it if notifications have been sent from within the activity.
